Steered a boat, a Varua Va’a V6, for the first time.
It’s the first time I have ever been responsible for the safety and direction of a boat with other people in it.
Took a while to get the hang of it, but after half an hour or so of fumbling, I began to understand what I was looking for from the steer blade and the boat.
It’s a very different sensation from paddling. It’ll take time for me to get used to it.
